Christmas Party Committee June 2009
MINUTES of the Wrockwardine Wood & Trench Parish Council Christmas Party Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 30th June 2009 at the Parish Council Centre at 7pm.
PRESENT: Cllrs J. Thompson – Chair, K. Hanmer and S.A. Watkins.
09/116 Election of a Chairman
RESOLVED – That Cllr. K. Hanmer be elected Chairman for the forthcoming twelve months.
09/117 Apologies
RESOLVED - to accept apologies from Cllr H Smith
09/118 Declarations of Interest
No declarations of interest were made in any item specified in the agenda.
09/119 The Minutes of the Meeting held on 2nd December 2008 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chair.
09/120 Progress to Date
The Clerk informed members that the Sutherland School hall has been booked for 5th December 2009 and quotations have been requested from Hammonds Caterers and Hughes Caterers.
09/121 To consider the entertainment
Cllr. Thompson said that he attended a function at the Labour Club where Del Charles provided the entertainment. Cllr. Hanmer agreed to obtain quotes from various entertainers she knows including Del Charles.
09/122 To consider the Guest List
It was AGREED to invite the following guests:
- Lord & Lady Grocott
- David Wright MP and Lesley Wright
- Mayoress Karen Blundell and Consort
- Cllr. Bob and Christine Groom
- Richard Overton
- Rev. Stafford & Julie Stafford
- Head of Sutherland School – Mr. Wall
- 2 CSOs
09/123 Raffle Prizes and Bingo
Agreed to have shopping vouchers for the bingo prizes, Cllr. Hanmer agreed to approach local shops for raffle prizes and the Clerk was instructed to write to the large supermarkets.
09/124 To consider the provision of a bar
It was AGREED to provide the bar ourselves again as this was very successful last year.
09/125 To consider any further action
The following action was agreed.
- To book AT Browns Transport
- To book St. Johns Ambulance
- Cllr. Watkins agreed to borrow a bingo machine
Cllr. Hanmer informed members that she has been approached by a resident who has offered to help out at the party. It was agreed to accept the resident's help.
The meeting closed at 7.45pm.
