Christmas Party Committee May 2011
MINUTES of the Wrockwardine Wood & Trench Parish Council Christmas Party Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 31st May 2011 at the Parish Council Centre at 7pm.
PRESENT: Cllrs. L.T. Brayne, K. Hanmer and S.A. Watkins.
11/151 Election of a Chairman
RESOLVED - that Cllr. K. Hanmer be elected Chair for the forthcoming twelve months.
11/152 Apologies
RESOLVED - to accept apologies from Cllr. B J Thompson (illness)
11/153 Declarations of Interest
No declarations of interest were made in any item specified in the agenda.
11/154 The Minutes of the Meeting held on 7th September 2010 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chair.
11/155 Progress to Date
The Sutherland School has been booked as the venue for Saturday 3rd December 2011. It was noted that the cost will be £448.
11/156 To consider quotations received for the Christmas Lunch
Two quotations were received, both were of a similar price at £18.58 per head and £18.11 per head. It was RESOLVED – to accept the quotation from Hughes Caterers at £18.58 per head. The decision for accepting the slightly higher quotation was because of the good standard of the meal at the previous party and the standard of service.
It was AGREED to ask Hughes Caterers to substitute a glass of wine for a glass of sherry on arrival and to have sprouts instead of peas with the meal.
11/157 To consider the Entertainment
RESOLVED - to book Del Charles subject to availability.
11/158 To consider the Guest List
RESOLVED - that the guest list will consist of: Lord & Lady Grocott, David Wright MP and Mrs. Wright, two members of the Local Police Team and Mr. Wall - Headteacher of the Sutherland School.
It was AGREED to invite Rev. Stafford to say grace.
11/159 To consider Raffle Prizes and Bingo
RESOLVED - to purchase vouchers for bingo prizes and to ask local businesses for donations of raffle prizes.
11/160 Bar Provision
RESOLVED - to provide our own bar again.
11/161 To consider any further action
