MINUTES of the Wrockwardine Wood & Trench Parish Council Finance Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 6th October 09 at the Parish Council Centre, Church Road, Wrockwardine Wood at 7.30pm.
PRESENT: Cllrs. S. A. Watkins – Chair, C. F. Smith – Vice Chair, K. Hanmer and D. Plant.
09/604 APOLOGIES
RESOLVED to accept apologies from Cllr. H. Smith (illness)
09/605 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
There were no declarations of interest in any item specified on the agenda.
09/606 TO RECEIVE BUDGET INFORMATION
RESOLVED – To accept the statement of grants issued to date. It was noted that the balance stands at £870.
09/607 GRANT APPLICATIONS
RESOLVED that the Council in accordance with its powers under Sections 137 and 139 of the Local Government Act 1972 should incur the following expenditure which, in the opinion of the Council, is in the interests of the area or its inhabitants and will benefit them in a manner commensurate with the expenditure.
a) To consider a grant application from No Panic
RESOLVED – to award a grant of £50 towards recruiting help line volunteers.
b) To consider a grant application from Donnington Police Community Amateur Boxing Club
RESOLVED – not to award a grant on this occasion and to suggest they apply to Donnington Partnership for funding.
c) To consider a grant application from Girlguiding – Shropshire.
RESOLVED – to award a grant of £100 towards attendance at the Girlguidings Centenary Camp.
09/608 MINNESOTA YOUTH CLUB
A letter was received from LPO John Walters thanking us for our support last year and asking if we would like to provide further funding for the youth club for this year. LPO Walters says that there has been a management change at Minnesota Fats and the youth club may cease at that venue until new premises are found.
RESOLVED – to find out more information about the possibility of a new venue for the youth club before considering this request.
